What this website collects
By default, nothing. No cookie is set and no analytics script runs until you actively accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Declining, or simply not answering, means nothing is tracked — the site works identically either way.
If you accept, we load Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how many people visit this site, which pages they read, and roughly where visitors are browsing from. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this, and the resulting data is processed by Google. We do not use it to advertise to you elsewhere, and we do not combine it with the details you send us through the quote form or WhatsApp.
There is no advertising pixel and no other third-party tracking script on these pages, accepted or not.
Your web host will also keep standard server logs, which typically include IP addresses and requested URLs, for security and diagnostics. That happens regardless of your cookie choice, is normal for any website, and is not used by us to identify or profile anyone.
What the quote form actually does
The quote form runs entirely in your browser. When you press the button it assembles the details you typed into a text message, shows that message to you, and then — only if you press the second button — opens WhatsApp with the text pre-filled.
Nothing is submitted to this website, stored on a server, or emailed anywhere. You still press send inside WhatsApp yourself, and until you do, your details have not gone anywhere. If you close the page instead, nothing has been shared.
Once you do send it, the message is handled by WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own privacy terms. We receive it as an ordinary WhatsApp message on the business phone.
What we do with what you send us
We use the information you give us — your name, contact number, address or postcode, and what needs cleaning — for one purpose: to quote for the work and to carry it out. The lawful basis is performance of a contract, or the steps you ask us to take before entering one.
Photographs you send us are used to prepare your quote. We will not publish a photograph of your home or your furniture anywhere — including the before-and-after gallery on this site — unless you have specifically agreed to it.
We do not sell your details, share them with marketing companies, or add you to a mailing list.
Cookies
If you accept the cookie banner, Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies to distinguish one visitor from another and to remember a session for up to 24 hours. None of them identify you personally, and none are used for advertising.
Your choice is remembered in your browser, so you are only asked once. To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again on your next visit. You can also block Google Analytics outright by adjusting your browser's cookie settings or using a tracker-blocking extension — the site works identically either way, since nothing here depends on analytics to function.
How long we keep it
Job records and invoices are kept for as long as UK tax and accounting rules require, currently six years. Message threads and quote enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are clearly no longer relevant.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Email[email protected] or call07342 840056 and we will deal with it within a month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.
