The riverside developments around Wandsworth Town station and Riverside Quarter are lift-access apartments with concierges, underground parking and, usually, an open-plan living area finished in engineered oak with a large rug and a modular sofa. Those are straightforward jobs provided the building access is arranged in advance — most require the service lift to be booked and a contractor sign-in.
The Tonsleys and the Victorian terraces off Garratt Lane are the opposite: on-street access, a hall and staircase, and frequently a basement or lower-ground reception. Lower-ground rooms dry more slowly, so we bring air movers as a matter of course rather than as an extra.
Southfields, towards the Wimbledon side, has larger 1930s semis with more fitted carpet than the terraces, and whole-house carpet jobs are common there — usually four or five rooms plus hall, stairs and landing in a single visit.
